How would fall detection and voice check-ins work?
Kinova is being developed to notice possible falls or unusual inactivity, ask whether help is needed and notify chosen family contacts if there is no response. Detection performance is not yet published. The system is intended to support family awareness, not guarantee that every incident is detected.
Who is Kinova designed for?
Kinova is designed for older adults who want to live independently at home and family members who want to know when they may need help. It is a planned home assistant with voice check-ins and family alerts, rather than a professional care or emergency dispatch service.
Can we set up Kinova ourselves?
You can connect a single-camera setup with a Safety Pod yourself. For systems with multiple cameras, we arrange installation through local partner installers. We’ll confirm local availability and any installation cost before you commit to installation.
Is Kinova available now?
Kinova is in development, with a pilot launch planned for 2027. The visuals and interaction example on this page illustrate the planned experience. Final specifications and delivery timing will be confirmed before launch.
What is the $49 reservation?
It reserves priority access to the pilot launch. The reservation is refundable before shipping. The estimated Starter Kit price is $299, with a Family Plan at $24.99/month. The $49 reservation is not the full price of the system.
Does my parent need to wear anything?
The planned system uses devices placed around the home. Your parent does not need to wear a pendant or keep a phone within reach for a voice check-in.
Are there cameras in the bedroom or bathroom?
The proposed setup uses cameras in shared spaces and audio Safety Pods in private rooms. A pod can ask if help is needed without a camera inside the room. Detailed data and privacy settings will be confirmed before launch.
Does Kinova call emergency services?
Kinova is designed to notify your chosen family contacts. It does not automatically dispatch emergency services and does not replace professional care, supervision or an emergency response service.
